Honoring our indigenous artist (live dance) at Festival SIE
SIE Festival (AGUA.KO.WATER.) is a place for the exchange of ideas and ways of artistic expression centered in water, not only as a natural resource but also as the vital component of our internal and external ecosystems.
SIE create consciousness about the global crisis that it's heading our way because of the greediness and irresponsibility in the use of water and its conservation.
Another component of the Festival revolves around the role women have around water, especially indigenous and minority women because they are the ones in charge of taking care of it.
April 2022, Bogotá, Colombia.
Thanks to the support from the Cultural and Educational Grants Program, through the Embassy of the United States in Bogotá, the festival hosted an Artistic Residency with two American indigenous and Ecological artists who collaborated with 25 indigenous and contemporary dancers from Colombia. The creative process allowed them to build and strengthen intergenerational and multicultural bridges between South/North communities. Its purpose was to foster environmental awareness and educate our audiences about the Indigenous Worldview of the Americas.
