The SIE II Festival, based in Bogotá and its surrounding areas, will serve as a space for cultural, artistic, and educational exchange among Indigenous communities from Colombia, Argentina, Ecuador, Chile, the United States, and Canada over six months. It will bring together academic experts, researchers, facilitators, traditional knowledge keepers, land defenders, musicians, dancers, and media, film, and audiovisual artists.
Through art and dialogue, perspectives and worldviews inspired by Indigenous values will be shared, emphasizing the protection of the Earth as a source of life, sustenance, creation, and natural resources.
This edition of the festival aims to highlight, reflect on, and raise awareness about the importance of protecting the land, recognizing its key role in preserving life, identity, and the collective memory of Indigenous peoples. The festival seeks to shed light on environmental issues, expose the effects of extractivism, acknowledge the struggles of Indigenous communities, and promote the recovery of ancestral knowledge that fosters a harmonious relationship between humans and nature. Additionally, it will encourage the exchange of perspectives and wisdom, integrating art as a fundamental tool for social transformation and environmental advocacy.
